UEFA Womens Champions League Quarter Final Part 1

Last Wednesday it was the first leg of this years UEFA Womens Champions League Quarter Final against FCR Duisburg and Arsenal Ladies (ALFC) Those of you who already know me, know that I am a huge fan of the ALFC although I am German ;) and even more that I am not a big fan of the FCR!

Duisburg decided that a Quarter Final midweek Fixture against a well known and international successful Team such as ALFC should be taking place in a "proper" stadium ( besides the Fact that they do have some Floodlight problems in their own stadium ) and with the success of last years Final (well still called UEFA CUP at this time) and 28'000 attandance they moved the Game to the lovely and impressive MSV Arena

So I got off work early and drove up from my hometown for 3 hours to attend this game. First I picked up the "hardcore ALFC FAN" from England, who does fly to nearly all the away games ( or all!? ) and we arrived very early at the venue.
Here I have to tell you a story about the "FANS" in Germany...In General Womens Football Fans in Germany are different than those of Mens Football, more interested in the sport itself that in any "fighting" and usually polite and civilised..well usually..my ALFC Friend from UK and I were talking about "idiots" amongst the Fans and that there are more and more of them suddenly appearing at the Womens Football Games... and what happened??.... WE-the only 2 Arsenal supporter with Arsenal Jerseys got yelled by a obviously already slight drunk IDIOT :
"F%$ Arsenal, ManU is the best" he screamed at me!
I said to him in german..yeah a suprise for him that I speak German :) ...something...that I wont repeat here...and than I smiled and said (in german) "You know that you are at the Womens Game Duisburg-Arsenal...Whatever!"...well so much about this... :(

Forgot this episode already when we got our tickets from a nice ALFC Lady and realized it was VIP Tickets.. We got into the warmth of the VIP Section, had some nice tea and Juice and a wonderful meal ;)
and believe it was really freezing cold!!

It was soo cold that I only took pictures at the Warm up ;)

The stadium was unfortunately not so crowed as the FCR has expected but at least 5'145 People attended the game....
