UEFA Womens Champions League Quarter Final Part 2

The game was dominated by the hosts of FCR Duisburg right from the second of Kick-Off! Freezing Temperatures and a moody and partly frozen and hard pitch in bad condition make Arsenal struggled at the beginning beeing to nervous and having problems with ball control.
Duisburg put pressure from the start and only the Cross bar saved the ALFC from an early goal.
After a corner in the 24 minute suddenly there were hectic and non-organized defending , Duisburg hit several shots at the goal all saved and stopped by Arsenal Defence. Somehow one of those shots hit Little at the Hand right at the goal line... again Luck for thr ALFC cos the Referee only gave a Penalty and a yellow card. Grings easy with the Goal from the PK!



With 1-0 up Duisburg was confident at Half time...although Laudehr had to be subbed due to muscle Problems
Second half Duisburg began with a lot of pressure again and Hegering hit the double lead 2-0 at the 49th Minute.
Arsenal came back with more offensive play at this part of the game... and could take advantage of the loss of concentration Duisburg were showing. A free-kick from Little accidently hit Grings and she scored the own goal with the header.
To be honest this goal for the ALFC came out of nothing and even the stadium announcer didnt recognize it: :) Well actually I have to admitt that I missed it too, cos I tried to give some Twitter Updates with frozen fingers and missed the goal!! :) well and only two people were happy and shouting about that...I guess we just werent loud enough :)

Duisburg still was trying to put back pressure and two chances from Grings and Maes again were only be saved by the cross-bar.



Luckily the Game ended 2-1 ...with the Away Goal the ALFC still have all the chances.
The Second Leg will take place at Sunday the 14th March Bishop’s Stortford FC
